Thallus to at least 20 cm (7.9 in) tall, dark pink to reddish, mucilaginous, irregularly to somewhat subdichotomously branched to several orders, branches usually broader near the base, tapering to a point.

Habitat

Subtidal on rock 10.7-18.2 m (35-60 ft).

North Pacific Distribution

Central to Eastern Aleutian Islands, Alaska
