Description:
Thallus is a slippery, brownish red-blade resembling tanned leather in texture. Blades are roundish, often lacerated, with short stipe and small discoidal holdfast. Narrow, elongate gland cells may be visible under a microscope. Habitat: This annual grows on rock in the low intertidal and subtidal of semi-protected to fully exposed habitats. Similar taxa: Kallymeniopsis.
