Description: Thallus is strap-shaped, dark brown to olive green, covered with dense papillae and bearing small blades and air bladders along the margins of the straps. This species is mostly less than 4.5 m (15 ft) long. Holdfast is conical, compact and richly- branched (haptera). Habitat: The species is a perennial occurring in the low intertidal to subtidal zones of semi-exposed habitats.
