Description:
Thallus is purplish red, to ~10 cm (4 in) tall, compressed, suboppositely branched to three orders, branches shorter near apex and progressively longer below, with somewhat rounded but slightly notched branch tips.
Habitat: This species grows on rock in the low intertidal and upper subtidal of semi-exposed shores.
